San's Child Inc. was born from one mother's determination to protect girls from the pain of bullying and give every young woman the tools to thrive.
Our Story
San's Child Inc. was founded in Memphis, Tennessee with a simple but powerful belief: every girl deserves to grow up feeling safe, valued, and equipped for success. What started as a grassroots effort in one neighborhood has grown into a citywide movement serving girls ages 7–17.
We partner with schools, community centers, and families to deliver hands-on programs that build character, dismantle bullying culture, and open doors to academic achievement. Our approach is relational — we meet girls where they are and walk alongside them every step of the way.

Dr. Taura Turner Jefferson founded San's Child Inc. in memory of her mother, Sandra, after witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of bullying on young people in her community. A lifelong Memphis resident, educator, and advocate, she has dedicated over two decades to youth development and community empowerment.

Our mission is to infiltrate schools, churches, and communities with the message of anti-bullying, develop strong character, and provide educational support — creating awareness about the lasting effects of aggression and bullying while empowering girls to become confident, compassionate leaders.
